On Sunday February 10 we took Car15 on to the track at Brands
Hatch so that we could get some serious driving practice in prior to
the Gumball. Trackdays are a great way to find out what driving at
real speed is like, and how the car truly performs - I must admit to
being pleasantly surprised at finding out that the infamously twitchy
back end on an early 90's 911 turbo isn't quite so bad (apart from
one spin at Graham Hill bend, but that's another story!!)
We would like to say a great big "THANK YOU" to Andy, the instructor
that we took with us to the circuit - without him the day would not
have been anywhere near as much fun as it was. If you've never been
on a track day before I'd certainly recommend trying to trying to
find yourself a dedicated instructor for the day - the cost is more
than worth it in terms of learning how to drive the car properly,
and how to get the most out of the circuit.
