The Gumball Diary (Saturday April 27)

1050 - I40

Having a great ride out of Nashville on our way to Memphis, far more entertaining now that we've got the CB up and running - we've been listening to all the truckers talking about us as we go past. Some find us entertaining ("I'd rather be doing that than this" etc)..but some don't.

Not too long a run today though - about 232 miles until lunch at Gracelands.

1840 - I30

Gracelands wasn't much more than a sandwich, and bottle of water (apart from the view!) and a route card to the Crescent Court Hotel in Dallas 470 miles away.

About 90 minutes into the trip all three of our group (us, the black Saleen Mustang, and the Texas Viper)got busted by the Arkansas police for doing 82 in a 70 zone...not sure how much it's going to be at the moment, but it can't be much (hopefully!!!)

We were told by the officer that busted us that a few minutes earlier a reb Lambo had been past them, and clocked doing in excess of 180mph - he said that they had no chance of catching them, but they had radioed ahead to arrange for a welcoming committee in Little Rock. Poor chap - I'm guessing that he's spending a night with Bubba....

We've been having a little trouble with the radar detector and the trucks that we've been passing - it keeps going off for no apparent reason - will have to try and alter the sensitivity tonight when we get to Dallas.

The drive this afternoon has been so much slower due to a very high police coverage, but should hopefully be there in a little over an hour.

2200 - Crescent Court Hotel, Dallas

Checked into the hotel quite a while ago, got cleaned up, and are about to go to dinner to find out how everyone's day went - all will be posted tomorrow.....
